Down the Memory Beach
A bucket full of paint, covered with a lid which threatened to fall over any moment, whistled by and landed next to the old armchair, having splashed a shimmering (shimmering, not glittering) stain on it.
Smaller gears went flying to all sides, until the reason of this mischief grew tired and showed itself - it was a boy of about three or four, all dark brown eyes and hair sticking upwards, the clothes of which held permanent tracks of actions. "This kid makes the odds and ends burn!", as Grandmother Jackie loved to say. And she was right.
"C'mere, Bertie, I finished!" Kasterborous Tyler - or simply Kaster - squeaked, having emerged from the chest kept under the table - his father loved keeping things there. "C'mere, I no toss anymore!"
The other boy walked into the lab rather warily, as if expecting to fall through the floor. He was Kaster's total opposite both in appearance and mann
Collector-Sealing the Deal (TF)“So, that’s it?” Patrick looked up at his new employer with a broad grin. Life had a tendency to dump problems on the young adult’s head, beginning with the death of his parents and ending in his homelessness. But now, thanks to Aqualand’s outreach program, he’d be able to work for his favorite water park! This was a dream come true!
“Absolutely.” His new boss smiled at him. As he’d grown to expect, it didn’t quite reach her eyes. That was the first thing he’d noticed about Emma Draes. The second noticeable quirk of hers was how she seemed to treat one of the park’s security officers as her superior, rather than the other way around. It set off a faint warning bell in Patrick’s mind, but when the alternative was living jobless…
Patrick shook off his apprehension, standing up to shake her hand. “So, where do I get my uniform?”
Bionicle, Legend of Earth 2 CH 13 to War BrothersThe city echoed with screams. Horns beeped out as they always did, but now they did so in their owners' attempts to flee. Sirens joined them as they all focussed in on one area. The smoke could be seen for miles as the flames began to spread. Cars lay as upturned wrecks, and the number of dead rose by the minute. Trafalgar Square had been left in ruins, with little more than rubble and deep craters filling the London landmark. All forms of resistance had been quelled with no mercy. Whitehall and the surrounding street had been blockaded by every form of defence that could be mustered in time. Police cars and military jeeps kept everyone out, and the orchestrators of the catastrophe in.
"Wheeled vehicles… it takes me back to the first siege of the City of the One." The black and red Being stood atop the broken fountain and admired his 'handy work'.
"The creatures have surrounded us with defences. Do you think they plan another attack?" The second Being spoke to the leader. He had
Slime Girl TF Transformation PodAnna sat there waiting, her foot quivering with eager tension. She was the next person to try a whirl at the Transformation Pod, an egg-shaped machine that could take a person and change them into any thing possible, even inanimate objects. But that wasn't what Anna was here for. Truth be told Anna didn't know why she was here. She watched the screen of the video monitor that showed the before and after photos of previous subjects. A nurse who had been changed into a bunny hybrid. One of the ears twitched as she looked at her iPad. "Anna Darmond?" Her cute lilting voice called.
"Yes?" Anna said tripping over her own feet as she stood up.
"You're next." The nurse said turning around leading Anna down a long corridor. Pushing threw one of the set of doors Anna looked at the flashing Transformation Pod with a sense of awed fear. The nurse giggled. "Have you made your selection?"
"No... was too nervous to think a
Lost BuckyBucky was confused, tired and hungry, he didn’t know what to do or where to go since everyone knew about HYDRA and the police were looking for the people who ran HYDRA. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do now since all he knew was to do his mission and return to HYDRA, so with it gone he was lost.
He left the man named Steve on the shore of the Potomac River, Captain America, HYDRA told him that he was his mission, but Steve said he was his friend. This made Bucky even more confused.
His head started to hurt as memories flooded his brain, he sat down on the sidewalk and started to cry, he was lost. He didn’t know what to do, let alone where to go, if he went back to HYDRA he would be captured, and for one thing he had a metal arm which made it easy for the police to spot him, he had to find a change of clothes and fast.
Bucky stuck to the shadows trying not to be spotted and since the sun was setting it was easy to do, he made his way through the city without be
The Ninja and his children“With all due respect, sir, I honestly think that we should wait.” Ziu voiced his opinion to the man whose shadowed back faced the group as he gazed upon the computer screens.
An older female dissolved by the name of beacon held up her hand to the male dissolved. “Don’t question the Ninja’s decisions.” She warned, “His reasons are far wiser than yours even though you don’t understand them.”
“It’s alright, Beacon.” The ninja spoke without facing them.
Both dissolved faced the shadowed man with surprise.
The ninja slowly turned, finally facing them. Still shadowed, his features were still not visible. “This one deserves an explanation.”
Beacon bowed her head respectfully and stepped aside so that Ziu and the ninja could speak face to face.
Ziu watched the ninja carefully.
“As you know... The dissolved known as “Black Widow” has recently lost her mentor in this past year.” The ninja
FreezeWe drink, as the crew celebrates our voyage home. We've done all the planned missions, and even ones improvised by the head scientists. I look over at you, sitting in the corner, watching everyone like a stoic guardian. The others are content to get hammered using the results of a DIY still but you remain silent, observing all. I come over, inviting you into the conversation, but you shake your head and continue your watch.
We ended up spending three years on Scruna. Three whole years of experiments, tests and theories. We had done our jobs, and done them well. The entire crew had done our species proud, and proved we earned all the fancy letters before our names.
The drinking continues, late into the night shift. Crew come and go as they prepare the ship for the deep sleep. Our home is currently 43 light years away, and the best way to get there is "Deep Sleep", a cryogenic freezer of sorts. Our ship is powered by a fusion core, so it'll run on automatic, controlled by a primitive AI.
KAS Eien no Hyakki Yagyo: Prehistory Part 1Eien no Hyakki Yagyo: Prehistory
Part One: -The Fall of Shangri La-
Long ago in a time long before the foundings of modern civilization…In a time of great upheaval and war….
Everyone knows of the Four Island Nations…. Atlantis, Hyperborea, Muu, Lemuria. However our story takes us to a land away from the conflict, inhabiting the what is now known as the continent of Asia... Shangri La.
The Fall of the Four is well known, however, before all of that, Shangri La simply…vanished from the pages of history.
Shangri La was first and foremost a society of Magus, exploring the mysteries of the universe in relative isolation and exploring and revealing vast stores of knowledge and pursuing the pinnacle of what could be considered human enlightenment. Enigma Manipulation or Magic as we know it today owes its existence to the systems and knowledge Shangri La set the standard for.
Unlike the probing of the Muu or the aggression of the Sulta
Spirit Incarnation: It was again one of those daysIt was again one of those days. Rain fell down from the sky, hitting the empty streets and making it its eternal drum set. Between the skyscrapers, no stars were visible in this night. Darkness ruled the cement and glass giants of the city. The yellow lights of the street lanterns made the rain drops visible, yet glowing in contrast to the surrounding blackness.
He walked along this street, holding a turned off flashlight firmly in his hand, as he watched it happening. Within the darkness of the night, a light of seemingly unnatural force appeared, dominating the sky. It was like a blue spiral of energy. Flashes came out of it. Lightning hit the ground, leaving jagged holes in the asphalt.
He felt the fear in his bones, electricity racing through his nerves, telling his brain to run away, to leave this place. But, for some reason, instinct of survival failed. Something made him to stay. And so he watched the mysterious phenomenon.
The object began to pulsate. The intervals became short
